Day Cruise:  7 hours 10am - 5pm (we are flexible for start/end time)

(incl. 3 course lunch)

All cruises depart from /return to St Mullins Lock, Co. Carlow.  

Barge Cruise of the River Barrow

Guests will be greeted on board with light refreshments before departing from Larry's barge moorings at St Mullins Lock. The barge will set off along the River Barrow heading towards the village of Graiguenamanagh. Our travels will take us through some breathtaking scenery and some of the oldest locks and bridges on the Barrow navigational system dating to 1760s.

After a quick stop in Graiguenamanagh (where you can visit lovely old pubs, Duiske Abbey or do a quick spot of shopping) we venture further up river passing through the double lock at Ballykennan and onwards to Clashganny lock. The trip will take the best part of 7 hours and we should arrive back in St Mullins Lock around 5 pm.

Overnight Cruise Trip (1 or 2 nights)

Day One:

Guests will be greeted on board with light refreshments before departing between 11am and 12 noon from St Mullins Lock (see Directions). The barge will set off towards the village of Graiguenamanagh taking time to stop and visit this picturesque village including its famous Duiske Abbey.

Our final destination for the day will be up river past the double lock at Ballykennan mooring along the river bank close to the award winning Clashganny House restaurant (http://www.clashgannyhouse.com)

Day Two:

After breakfast we continue our journey and if desired visit the village of Borris and on request a guided tour of the historic Borris House (www.borrishouse.com) can be arranged.
